The Atlantis has acres of lagoons filled with all sorts of exotic sea creatures. Many of the lagoons can be inspected simply by peering from pathways above.
In some spots the walkways through the water park have a "Robinson Crusoe" flavor--like this elaborate rope bridge past a waterfall.
But the best way to view Atlantis' amazing collection of sea creatures is by entering the subterranean grottos. There are many entrances throughout the grounds.
Once in the grottos, a visitor is treated to an astonishing variety of marine life.
Beneath the lagoons, you can walk through acrylic tubes among sharks, rays, and barracudas! Some of the sharks are really king-sized.
There are also some ferocious fresh water fish--like these piranhas.
There's a beautiful collection of jelly fish.
And there is a kind of "petting zoo" where you can handle some creatures. These include conch and sea cucumbers.
