Homeward!

The next morning, Katy bundled us off to Madrid's airport for the flight back home. We said a last farewell to Jose, our bus driver, who had taken us safely over the many miles of our journey. What a great guy!

After a routine series of waits at check-in gates, departure lounges, etc., we eventually boarded our flight. Our route took us from Spain via London. In London, Dot and I split up. Dot traveled on to Wales where she spent an additional month overseas visiting with her Mum.

I continued through London--with a change of planes--back to Chicago's O'Hare field. Vacation was over; it was back to work for me. But my baggage didn't make the connecting flight!

Lost baggage is NOT a problem when the vacation is OVER! In fact, the missing baggage turned out to be a wonderful convenience. I had a super-easy time clearing customs. (With no bag, it's a snap!) And the next day, my luggage was delivered by courier.

In a month's time, Dot and I were re-united. Now, for both of us, our wonderful journey is a rich memory.

What sweet reveries!
