Hello! I'm Rick. My wife is Dot. In September, 1998, our annual vacation consisted
of a Saga Holidays trip to the Iberian Peninsula and Morocco.
We'd like to share the experience with you.

Saga Holidays markets its travel packages to the mature traveler--age 50 and over. That's us. As you can see, we're not exactly college kids. Wags in the travel industry say that "SAGA" is really an accronym standing for "Sex And Games [for the] Aged." |

But "aged"--Nonsense! We assure the reader that any oldsters on this journey indeed had to be pretty spry. In fact, our tour was a 22-day sightseeing blitz! Very candidly, if you want to travel leisurely, meet the local people, and immerse yourself in the culture--then take a different tour! This trip focused on the cities, the attractions, the sights. That's what we expected, and that's what we got. There were occasional periods of unscheduled time, but not a lot. During these breaks we managed to take some private shopping excursions, to dine in delightful sidewalk cafes, or to stroll charming back streets. So, despite the frenzied pace, we did enjoy at least a little bit of the "local flavor." But mostly this was a sight-seeing campaign worthy of the famous "If this is Tuesday; it must be Belgium" tradition.
