Aboard the Train
We had heard stories about huge throngs in the Tokyo subways--and about official "pushers" who prodded and stuffed passengers into horrendously over-crowded cars. We didn't witness anything like that. Nowadays, subway "pushers" no longer exist. And we didn't encounter masses of transit patrons or packed trains.
The trains were sleek and modern. The cars were clean. (No graffiti or tags!) The well-patronized coaches accommodated passengers without over-crowding--and, as we've mentioned, Dot could even reach the overhead hand-grips!
