The Jumbo

Can we call the Jumbo Floating Restaurant a Hong Kong "landmark?" Well, whatever, it's certainly famous. Our Junk ride took us past the Jumbo.

We decided to have a dinner there before leaving Hong Kong. For the meal, Dot and I travelled from Kowloon to the Jumbo by Star Ferry, double-decker bus, and eventually a restaurant-sponsored "courtesy" water-taxi. (We truly enjoy getting around foreign cities by local transportation, rather than a cab from the hotel.)

It was pricey, but we're glad we ate there. And we wonder if there's any more red and gold paint left in the world after the Jumbo's decorators finished their work!
