Off to Cordoba! |

Day four had us driving off to Cordoba though countryside made famous by Cervantes' Don Quixote. In fact, we stopped at the very inn where Don Quixote is said to have been knighted! Yes, indeed. There's a plaque on the wall attesting to the event. (Well, I can't read the plaque--but I'm told that's what it says and besides if it's in writing, it MUST be true!)
![]() This experience was very reminiscent of our travels in Greece--where a tour guide, without batting an eye, might point to a spot saying, "The God Apollo was born right under that tree!" It was left up to you to tell the real from the imaginary. So we experienced a bit of such good-natured story-telling in Spain as well.
