Enroute to Toledo

Kate O'Leary didn't bring us directly to our afternoon visit of Toledo. She was far too savvy a tour guide for that! If she taken us directly to Toledo, then we would have been forced to lunch there--or in "downtown" Madrid before leaving.

Getting lunch for our large-sized group in the very midst of a major city or a popular tourist destination could have been a time-consuming and expensive proposition. We had a sizeable entourage--45 people. That's a lot to manage!

Instead of fighting crowds, Katy programmed an early stop en route at a place with a marvelous square and a variety of eating establishments. Here's where we stopped:

I wish I could tell you where we were when I took these photos. Still, including them in our travelogue is consistent with the spirit of our adventure. Being in a picturesque spot, taking some interesting photographs, capturing some precious memories--BUT NOT KNOWING WHERE YOU WERE--seems to be the very essence of our commando-style sight-seeing blitz! (But our trip was fun, and we wouldn't trade it for anything!)

Best we can say is that this is someplace on the way to Toledo!

Since posting this page, I'm grateful to have had my sleeve tugged:

"Psst! Hey fellow, you were at the Plaza Mayor (Main Square) in an area of Madrid that dates back to the 17th century."
