Along the Promenade to the Ming Tombs
Whimsical large stone figures lined the walkway to the Ming Tombs. If the sculptors were trying to craft ferocious creatures, they failed badly. We found that the figures--even those that might have been intended to look mean--seemed to have an inner "gentleness" that made them charming and entertaining.
