One of the last Chinese Emperors squandered the treasury on lavish personal expenditures. Ironically, money which should have gone towards improving China's navy instead was spent on this frivolous "Marble Boat" at the Summer Palace. The marble boat doesn't float--but it does make a comfortable spot for enjoying a lake breeze.
